The Bi-annual Gifted Diva Showcase is a self-esteem exhibition created by author, former educator, and self-proclaimed DIVA, Brenda's Child. The competition brings together girls in grades 8 to 12, of all different backgrounds to participate in a series of personal development workshops. After which, they compete in the areas of talent, community service and awareness, academics, fashion expression, and public speaking. This showcase is like no other; it is completely FREE to enter, and beauty or poise is not a requirement, but self-love is! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. In fact, we prefer it that way. This showcase gives teen girls the opportunity to interact with one another in a positive environment while allowing the community to come forth and support our girls doing positive things. They make life long connections with each other and mentors as well collaborate with local colleges and area professionals.
At the 2018 Gifted Diva Showcase we celebrated 12 years of programming and 47 Gifted Divas.

Congratulations to our 2018 Gifted Diva Chantel Chaney from Renaissance School. Chante graduated in 2022. She was recently accepted into nursing school at Howard University.
In our opening number the girls danced to a mix of Ciara's "Level up" and " Dose" to celebrate their ability to "get back up again when you fall"
Check out our Facebook page for additional photos of backstage, rehearsals, fashion and evening wear.
